Agricultural Development Association (PARC) is a -35 years old-national developmental Non-governmental organization that strives to develop the agricultural sector, strengthen the resilience of farmers, reach out to the poor and marginalized groups and their CBO’s, mobilize and develop the capabilities of rural people to enable them to control their resources, through the work of a distinguished professional teams.

PARC Gaza is looking for an Expert to the values of Transformation, Integrity and Excellence to fill the following vacancy:

SMEs DEVELOPMENT EXPERT

Gaza. 

One year fixed-term contract – with possible extension.

Summary: The SMEs development expert will support the project “Resilience and Economic Growth in Gaza Strip in the Agricultural Sector”, funded by the EU. The project aims to improve the livelihoods of youth and farmers in the Gaza Strip through enhancing their chances to access to market in Gaza. PARC will start implementation of the project: “Improving the livelihoods of youth and farmers in the Gaza Strip through enhancing their chances to access to market”, in partnership with The Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and development (AECID), once the funds approved and allocated, expected July 2020 and plans for implementation completion by 2023.

This could be achieved through the following outcomes:–

Capacity building for unemployed youth and the long-term unemployed for better labor market access.

Capacities and practices of stakeholders in urban agriculture are improved and lead to increased employment and income opportunities of small-scale producers.

Market functions in urban agriculture systems are improved and lead to increased access to market by small scale producers.

Responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:

• Implementation of capacity development measures for the improvement of income and market systems in the urban agricultural sector
• Analysis of training needs and development of appropriate capacity development measures.
• Implementation of appropriate capacity development measures for relevant intermediates, target groups and other actors.
• Close cooperation with multiple stakeholders on different levels.

Required qualifications:
a)–General qualifications

• Graduate in Agronomy or Economic Sciences, Entrepreneurship, or other related field.
• Excellent command of English and Arabic.
• Minimum of four years’ experience in the field of private sector and SME development, enabling environment, and entrepreneurship development.
• In-depth knowledge in the domain of income-enhancement in the agrarian sector QUALIFICATIONS.

b)-Special qualifications

• Comprehensive experience in training and consultancy in the agrarian sector.
• Approved experience in the development of training-curricula.
• Knowledge of gender-mainstreaming approaches and techniques.
